The JDwoodwinds register tube is designed to fix this issue while providing excellent response in the lower clarion as well. This register tube is made from 925 sterling silver and can be installed without any permanent modifications to the instrument. Simply have a repair tech use a 1/2” wood dowel to carefully remove the old vent. Then the new vent can be installed with beeswax to secure it in place. Finally if needed the pad can be leveled and the mechanism adjusted to ensure good regulation.
