Looking for a custom bass clarinet bell that doesn’t cost a fortune? I designed and built this custom bass clarinet bell a few years ago and I’m selling it to make room for more projects. The bell section was 3D printed from a wood composite material and hand finished. I designed it with a different taper than a standard bell which gives the lower notes a much more focused sound. The metal bow section was taken from a clean dent-free bass clarinet bell and a brass tenon was fabricated and soldered on to hold the bell section. The bell is simply held on with cork and can be removed easily if needed. The proportions are about the same as a standard bell so it should fit in most cases. I’ve been using it for a few years but have been very careful with it so it’s in like new condition with minimal scratches and dings. The socket is 32.2mm in diameter by 30.2mm deep which is a standard size and it should fit most makes of low Eb bass clarinet, though note that the key will need to be adjusted by your repair tech. Will also work on low C instruments but the low C# may be a bit flat.
