BBb contrabass clarinet mouthpiece
The new JDwoodwinds contrabass clarinet mouthpiece is the result of many years of frustration with the mouthpieces previously available on the market. Before this mouthpiece, most contrabass clarinet mouthpieces you saw had facings that would not be out of place on a bass clarinet, leading to poor response and a weak tone. To me, this was unacceptable. The contrabass clarinet can be just as agile and responsive as the bass clarinet, and this mouthpiece makes it possible. The JDwoodwinds contrabass clarinet mouthpiece features an optimally sized facing that makes it one of the most free blowing and responsive mouthpieces on the market. The facing, tip and rails of each mouthpiece are hand leveled and finished to a professional standard to ensure every mouthpiece plays just as well as the one I use personally.
This mouthpiece takes any standard contrabass clarinet reed and ligature. My personal recommendation is the Rovner Dark ligature paired with a Vandoren #3 contrabass clarinet reed. Works will all modern contrabass clarinets excluding the Linton/Orsi. Also works with the Leblanc/Vito contra alto clarinets.
Now available with a specially designed slip-on ligature that carefully holds the reed along two small rails providing excellent resonance and response.

All of my mouthpieces are made from an FDA approved material and can easily be washed with soap and warm water to remove germs. As with any woodwind mouthpiece, it is recommended to clean your mouthpiece (and reed) after each play session to help your equipment last as long as possible and prevent the build up of germs.
