Bass clarinet neck (Buffet 1193 & 1183 fit)
This accessory is akin to an upgraded barrel for a Bb clarinet. It is designed to make your bass clarinet more responsive and improve projection, articulation and transitions between registers. These necks are made of a wood composite material chosen for its superior resonance and response compared to solid wood or metal. The design has recently been updated to include a new bore profile, thicker mouthpiece socket for increased strength and a solid brass tenon for improved response and projection. The model shown will only fit the post-2000 1193 model bass clarinet and its variants, but if you have an older Prestige (with a screw on the tuning slide) a custom neck can be made at no additional cost (send a message through the “Contact” tab for more details). This neck will also work with the Buffet Crampon “ICON” necks. Two angles are available: a “standard” angle which matches the stock neck or a “flat” angle (approximately 10 degrees flatter than the standard) ideal for playing with a neck strap while standing. Any other angle is available on request for no additional cost! An M6x8mm threaded insert compatible with the PiezoBarrel pickup is also available (A plug will be included so you can use the neck with no pickup).
