(Selmer fit) Alto clarinet/basset horn straight bell

from $400.00

Believe it or not, the bell of a clarinet can have a greater influence on tone than the neck/barrel. I’ve actually found that much of the “nasal” tone quality often attributed to the alto clarinet is in part a result of the oversized metal bell. My bell takes a radically different approach. The throat is both smaller and shorter helping to even out the sound. The overall diameter and taper of the bell is also much more in line with the soprano clarinet, giving the instrument a similar tone color. The result is the ultimate tool for players looking to get the most out of their alto clarinet or basset horn.

This bell features an adjustable key. All you need is a flathead screwdriver to adjust the key to your instrument. Comes standard in black wood composite with a carbon fiber key. This bell is available both with or without a floor peg.

This bell will fit any Selmer Paris alto clarinet or basset horn from around 1950 onward, if your Selmer alto has a 2 piece adjustable neck it is likely this bell will fit.
