Hammerschmidt Klingson German system bass clarinet with range to low D, maple body!

from $3,350.00
sold out

For sale we have a very unusual Hammerschmidt Klingson German system bass clarinet in Bb with a range to low D. This bass clarinet is even more unusual in that it is made of stained maple wood just like a bassoon and even has a wooden bell! It features a smaller bore than most Boehm system bass clarinets giving it a very dark and focused tone. This bass clarinet has just been fully repadded and serviced and is in excellent playing condition. It features white leather pads throughout and has silver plated key work. It also features pearled touch pieces on a few keys. With the included mouthpieces (one original Hammerschmidt and one new mouthpiece I made to fit this instrument) it plays well at A=442Hz. The neck as well as several keys have also just been sent out for refinishing. This instrument does show wear to the finish as you can see from the photos. It also does show normal dents, dings and scratches throughout, though nothing that affects playability. The wood also does show some repaired cracks in the middle socket as well as one on the bell. The repairs are holding up well and do not affect playability. Finally the original floor peg was damaged and has been replace with a modern one. This instrument comes complete with a string ligature, floor peg and a ProTec case. If you don’t want the ProTec case I can subtract $150 from the price.
