Buffet Pre-R13 Clarinet In A, Fully Overhauled With No Cracks!
For sale we have a lovely Buffet Pre-R13 A clarinet. This clarinet has just been fully overhauled by Chris Howard of Howard Woodwind Company, so despite having been made in 1924 it plays beautifully from top to bottom with a nice full sound and good response. Both joints have a fantastic seal and the keys feel nice and solid. This clarinet features long lasting Valentino pads along with synthetic felt key corks throughout most of the instrument, meaning you will spend less time at the shop and more time enjoying your horn! The keys are made of solid nickel silver that has been polished to a nice shiny finish, and unlike modern horns you will never have to worry about plating wear. The wood is completely free of cracks or other major signs of damage. Cosmetically it is in good condition for its age with only normal wear, scratches and dings. This clarinet has a really nice dark and focused sound with good intonation, especially for a vintage instrument. It would be a good choice for a college student or a professional on a budget. Comes with a single case in good condition. Barrel is 65mm (stock size for Buffet A clarinets) but the instrument has a standard sized upper tenon so it’s entirely possible to use an aftermarket barrel if needed.
