1979 Buffet R13, fully overhauled with Valentino and leather pads!
For sale we have a beautiful 1979 Buffet R13 professional Bb clarinet. This clarinet has just received a full overhaul and is in perfect playing condition. As part of this overhaul both body joints were full stripped, cleaned, oiled and all tone holes were carefully leveled. Keys have been cleaned, polished and adjusted to ensure a smooth and reliable action. All pads and corks have been replaced, with advanced materials like Ultrasuede and Tech Cork being used in critical locations to reduce key noise and improve reliability. For this overhaul I went with a combination of leather pads and Valentino pads for critical locations like the trill keys. This setup provides the best of both worlds, combining the nice solid feel of leather pads with the durability of Valentino pads where it is needed most. The instrument itself is in excellent condition for its age. The bore is still nice and shiny with absolutely no signs of rot and the edges of the tone holes and tenons are still fairly sharp, a good sign that this instrument has not seen heavy use or abuse. This instrument only shows some minor dings, dents, scratches and plating wear, nothing unexpected for a vintage horn. There are absolutely no cracks, chips or signs of repaired damage to the wood. This instrument even comes with the original case, mouthpiece and ligature, which is quite rare to see!
